On November 18, 2022, Bishkek hosted a round table dedicated to the protection of children's personal data in cyberspace in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was organized by the State Agency for Personal Data Protection under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic jointly with the Temir Dzhumakadyrov ProLex Public Foundation with the support of the Soros Kyrgyzstan Foundation.
The round table was held to discuss cybersecurity and Internet threats to children on the Internet, as well as to present international experience in protecting children's personal data. Speakers and participants shared their experiences and discussed the following issues:
- What threats are waiting for children and teenagers on the Internet?
- What forms of fraud with the help of children are gaining momentum? Should I post photos of my children on social networks?
- What should the state pay attention to?
- What best practices have already been developed by foreign colleagues?
- What is happening in the field of protection of children's personal data in cyberspace in Kyrgyzstan?
In their speeches, the speakers talked about the experience of foreign countries in protecting children's personal data, the threat and rights of minors in the field of personal information, and also shared practical cases.
